EOL (end of life)

‹ Glossary

An abbreviation of “end of life”. A software version for which the vendor no longer releases even security fixes. It applies to content management systems and to the PHP language (see Choosing a PHP version). Running a website on a version past its end of support is a risk, because new vulnerabilities remain unpatched.
