Blocking IP addresses and CIDR

‹ Glossary

Blocking access for specific addresses, entire ranges or countries. A range is written in CIDR format, for example 203.0.113.0/24 is a whole block of 256 addresses. It is useful against repeated attacks, but attackers often change addresses, so it is not a sufficient protection on its own.
